Luxury Villa, Sorrento, Amalfi Coast
Nestling in the splendid natural setting of Massa Lubrense, Lubra Casa Relax is a luxury villa in the Sorrento Peninsula, ideal for those seeking a quiet holiday away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
The tasteful furnishings and the rooms that look onto the Gulf of Naples make Lubra Casa Relax the ideal place for an exclusive, restful stay. The house is part of a historical 17th century residence, and the villa has conserved the original sandstone staircases, frescoes and vaulted ceilings, giving it an unusual, attractively old-fashioned air.
Access to the villa is through a lobby with a distinctive fresco dating back to the 17th century. From the same period are the sandstone staircase and the beaten lapillus roofs.
On the ground floor is the large, welcoming dining room, the small bar area and the professional kitchen. The dining room leads onto the large panoramic terrace, equipped with chairs, sun loungers and beach umbrellas.
A modern piped music system will make your time on the terrace and in the pool especially pleasant and relaxing. The jacuzzi swimming pool (3 m X 6 m) has been specially conceived and designed to offer guests an intensely relaxing experience. The professionally equipped kitchen offers everything you could possibly need during your stay, including four gas rings, an oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, Italian coffee maker and a series of small electrical appliances.
To reach the first floor, you can use either the 17th century sandstone staircase or the lift. The 7 bedrooms are located on the first and second floors. Seven rooms, seven different colours, with customised furnishings designed to reflect the personality of each mermaid. Partenope, Ligea and Leucosia are dedicated to the soul and to introspection, while Telete, Redne and Molpe, decorated in brighter colours, extol the vitality of body and spirit. The double rooms can host a total of fifteen people, and each is equipped with an en suite bathroom, TV with LCD screen, safe, mini-bar and internet connection.
Partenope: “the virgin”.
The room inspired by this mermaid, whose beauty was so legendary that she lent her name to the city of Naples, is dedicated to those who love pastel shades and airy, transparent effects. This exquisitely decorated room has a plasma-screen TV, mini-bar, safe, air conditioning, bathroom with shower and full set of courtesy items.
Procida:..”the beautiful”. This is a charming little tower with a double bed and en suite bathroom, as well as a large sun terrace with outside shower. It has a plasma-screen TV, air conditioning, bathroom with shower and full set of courtesy items.
Leucosia: “the white”.
Just like the mermaid it is inspired by, this attic bedroom is beautifully decorated in white and conveys the idea of inner peace and harmony. It has a wooden staircase that leads up to the vaulted roof, where you can admire the delightful views. The attic room has a plasma-screen TV, mini-bar, safe, air conditioning, bathroom with shower and full set of courtesy items.
Molpe: also known as “the priest’s room” because it once belonged to one of the seven priests who lived in the house. The leather bed and the bordeaux shades of the furnishings give the room a warm, cosy air.
Facing towards the sea, the room has an attractive bathroom with a shower, a full set of courtesy items, a plasma-screen TV, mini-bar, safe and air conditioning.
Telete: the predominant colours in this room are dark brown and ochre. The fine four-poster bed gives the room both an innate elegance and a cosy atmosphere. The window of the room looks onto the garden, towards the sea. The room has a plasma-screen TV, mini-bar, safe, air conditioning, bathroom with shower and full set of courtesy items.
Redne: this is the room of passion. The sumptuous furnishings, including a flame-red armchair and the corner bed with a blend of crimson and yellow shades, make this the ideal place to energize and refresh both body and spirit. The room has a plasma-screen TV, mini-bar, safe, air conditioning, bathroom with shower and full set of courtesy items.
There are three other distinctive areas on the first floor: a sitting room with a fireplace, a reading room and a study with an internet workstation and plasma-screen TV. The terrace is equipped with a covered outdoor shower, chairs, tables and beach umbrellas, making it the ideal place to savour the unforgettable sunsets.
Guests will be welcomed personally by the owners of Lubra Casa Relax, who will provide an exhaustive range of information and useful material (guides, maps of the paths, calendar of upcoming events) designed to guarantee a pleasant holiday in the Sorrento peninsula. The philosophy of Lubra Casa Relax is to offer a warm welcome for a tailor-made holiday break.
Guests staying in Lubra Casa Relax can either make their own way to Massa Lubrense, or contact the staff – on call round the clock – to request the transfer service from Naples airport or from any other location.
Lubra Casa Relax has a private wine cellar, in which guests can sample deliciously local wines and dishes made with certified local produce from the Sorrento Peninsula. The young chef will be pleased to organise lunches and dinners on request, and his philosophy, very much in line with that of the owners, is to create dishes able to bring out the very best in the wealth of delicious raw materials offered by the Sorrento Peninsula, by adding a gourmet touch to typical traditional local recipes.
Everything offered by a holiday in Massa Lubrense and in nearby Sorrento, Positano, Capri, Pompeii, Naples and Rome is within your reach here, and plenty of information can be consulted regarding these places. Experiencing the sea by boat is indeed something unique….but experiencing the sea aboard the Lubra Relax, exploring the enchanting bays of the Sorrento peninsula and the Amalfi coast really is a once-in-a-lifetime experience it is difficult to put into words….
Lubra Casa Relax offers guests the chance to enjoy this kind of experience, exploring the sea and its traditions along the coast of the “Land of the Mermaids”, following the route sailed by Ulysses. This is a truly unique opportunity, offering guests the chance to appreciate not only the exclusive beauty of the coast, rich in myths and legends, but much more besides....
Visitors can round off their trip with the thrill of trying out traditional fishing techniques, such as night-time expeditions to catch tattler fish. Your catch can then be cooked on board following one of the region’s traditional recipes, such as pezzogna all’acqua pazza (sea bream with tomatoes and chilli pepper) and Neapolitan sushi, and washed down with some excellent white wines.
Just a few metres from the Villa is the stop for SITA bus services to Sorrento. The SITA bus network links all the towns along the coast, offering convenient access to the archaeological sites of Pompeii, Ercolano and Paestum, as well as the Royal Palace of Caserta.
Lubra Casa Relax is situated in a quiet, sunny position, along a stretch of coast that is part of the Marine Protected Area of Punta Campanella, renowned for its beautiful landscape and the traces of its ancient history.
The villa is next to a little side road, closed to traffic, and faces the sea, where enchanting sunsets can be admired.
The house is also ideally situated for guests wishing to go trekking in the Sorrento Peninsula, with hiking routes available along a number of paths: to the Deserto (456 m), Mount S. Costanzo (497 m), from where there are breathtaking views, from Massa Lubrense to Termini (over 6 km of solitary road surrounded by Mediterranean maquis) and the bay of Ieranto in the heart of the Marine Protected Area of Punta Campanella.
Nice and relaxing place
Date of Stay: 04/01/2011
I have been here with my family and other friends. In total we have been 14 persons. The villa can accomodate in good condition 15 persons.
The villa is in a quite village, and has a wonderfull view to the sea and Ischia island. The sunsets are quite spectacular.
The rooms are elegant, confortable and clean, and there are a lot of public spaces and teraces with splendid views, where you can spent the time together with your family or friends. They also can arrange for a special dinner. We had the pleasure of a special dinner cooked by a local lady that showed us why Italian cuisine is so well known in all the world. The food was asociated with good wines found in villa colection. Very close to villa there are 2 food shops to buy fresh food for breakfast and decent restaurants for lunch and dinner.
We used only one of them, Francesco, the other one was not open yet, and we have been satisfied by the good food and quite reasonable prices.
The restaurant was mostly apreciated by our drivers, that could taste Italian wines at dinner, with no need to drive back home. From that place, if you have a car, and I recommend to come with small cars, because the roads are so large in this area, you can visit amalfi Coast, (Positano and Ravello being my favorites), you can go in the nearest town Sorrento, an very elegant town with a spectacular see side. I understood that there are some public transportation, but we didn't use it. From Sorrento you can go by sea in Capri, Ischia or Napoli.
To Napoli you can also use the train. Using the car can be painfull, because the roads are often crowded. For people interested in history, Pompei that is not so far can be an option for a special day.
Finally you meet nice, warm people, the owner and his friend Piero. We will not forget Giovana that cleaned up our mess, a nice lady that cooks excelent. I warmly recommend this place for good friends that can spent nice moments, and see a lot of unforgettable
